CanNorth College’s Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate program is designed to give you the skills and training you need to pursue opportunities in one of Ontario’s most in-demand career paths. PSWs are an integral part of the community, assisting with and improving the quality of life for individuals who require continuous care. As a PSW, your compassion and medical training will bring much needed support to both patients and their families.
Our program includes courses a 300-hour clinical placement in a real-world work environment. This placement allows you to apply your skills and provides valuable hands-on experience and insight into your future career. You will be fully prepared to pursue employment in hospitals, long-term care settings, adult day programs, retirement homes, private homes and more.
New Funding Incentives from the Government of Ontario
The government of Ontario has announced new funding incentives to help fill the ongoing demand for PSWs. New students may receive up to $5,440 during clinical placements and recent graduates may receive $10,000 in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work in a long-term care home or for a home and community care employer. Graduates who make a 12-month commitment to work in rural, remote or northern areas are eligible for an additional $10,000 to assist with relocation costs for. Get more information now!
